Together with Dutch photographer Caroline Sikkenk, the Pink Ribbon Foundation (PRF) has brought the moving BOLD project to the UK, photographing women in England, Scotland, and Wales, with plans to travel to Northern Ireland early 2027.

BOLD celebrates the resilience, beauty, and strength of those who have lost their hair while undergoing treatment for breast cancer or due to alopecia.

Since 2024, Goodwork has had the privilege of working with PRF to share the story of BOLD with media throughout the country. This has lead to widespread and carefully targeted coverage in publications from The Herald to Manchester Evening News. Most recently, we engaged with BBC Wales to discuss the story of 11 Welsh women participating in Cardiff, including models Rhiannon Thomas and Sam Gronow-Walters.

By identifying the right journalist to pitch the story to, we were able to secure a brilliant interview with the BOLD ladies and PRF, which was published online, on radio, and on television, resulting eventually in a spot on BBC Breakfast.

After already being featured on the Piccadilly Lights once, BOLD UK will once again take over the iconic display twice during Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2026. PRF is also taking the stunning portraits across the pond during the month of October, showing them in Times Square for the first time ever.

Lisa Allen of the Pink Ribbon Foundation reflected, "The impact often starts before we even take the photograph. Some arrive nervous about being photographed without their hair, and then you see something change as the shoot goes on. BOLD puts the woman back at the centre of her own story, and the friendships and support that grow around it last long after the photograph is taken."
